The Advanced Intense Hockey Challenge
Aimed with the emphasis on every skill level the coaching can be adjusted to satisfy and test all players.

To determine the level of skill, the test has been developed on three levels. On each level exists a different test, although all exercises for each level are the same, the only difference being the degree of difficulty.

The degree of difficulty is determined by:
• The distance over which the exercises are performed
• The number of balls used
• The number of points gained

The exercises:
1. Stopping & receiving
2. Passing: Push pass
3. Passing: Hit
4. Dribbling
5. Hitting on the move
6. Scoring on the move

Intense Hockey - Coaching Award
Students will study aspects of coaching, identifying style and approach. The course is uniquely designed for Intense Hockey students.

All students will study theory and the practical aspect of coaching, and will after tuition be asked to study and devise their own 15 minute session of coaching practice, in pairs, in an assessment environment.

The basic principle of leadership in coaching rather than demonstrative coaching is what the course will be exploring.

In discussion with Steve Wood, who is one of the North's leading coach educators, the basic principles of coaching were explored and resulted in the findings that not only were players wishing to learn more about coach education, they found that through the principle of tutoring, they understood far more about their own abilities and understanding of the game.

In applying the same strategy to Intense Hockey we expect to find inner qualities of all our young students, who have never been asked to explore their capabilities within their peer levels.

There will be no failures on this course.

Each student will be given a topic to understand and deliver in his/her assessment during the course.
